Description¶
The sorter deals claims about ADHD one at a time — some drawn straight from Chapter 1's myth section, some from the research facts around it. You must commit to a judgment (Myth or Supported by evidence) before the card flips; the reveal always comes with a two-to-three sentence explanation naming the concept the answer rests on — attention regulation, heritability, the DSM-5 counting rules, masking.
A round is ten claims. The summary lists anything you missed, with its explanation, so a replay targets exactly the beliefs that need updating. The prediction-before-reveal design is deliberate: judging first is what makes this an evaluation exercise instead of a reading exercise.
Lesson Plan¶
- Baseline (5 min): Each learner plays one solo round and notes their score.
- Pair round (5 min): Pairs replay, debating each claim aloud before committing. Scores usually rise — discuss why.
- Family variant (5 min): The person with ADHD and a family member play together; each privately predicts which claims the other will miss.
- Debrief (3 min): Collect the most-missed claims and trace each to its chapter section.
