Description

Chapter 6 explains that co-occurring conditions crowd around ADHD through three mechanisms — shared biological roots, consequences of the unexplained years, and mutual entanglement — plus a fourth relationship that is really about differential diagnosis (the look-alikes). This map encodes each mechanism as an edge type. Click any condition for its field-guide entry: definition, relationship, the tell that should prompt screening, and its treatment lane.

The filter buttons isolate one mechanism class at a time — filtering to consequences shows what the untreated years manufacture; filtering to entangled shows what must be treated in parallel. The Dev, 15 button loads the chapter's case: ADHD plus a reading disability plus emerging low mood, with the daily-defeat edge drawn in — the picture that explains why "raise the dose" was the wrong dial.

Lesson Plan

  1. Tour (4 min): Click through all twelve conditions; note each tell.
  2. Mechanisms (4 min): Use the filters. Ask: which class responds to treating the ADHD itself, and which needs its own lane?
  3. Case (3 min): Load Dev. Trace why the stimulant dial couldn't fix 10th grade.
  4. Screen (3 min): Each learner privately marks any tell that rings true — that list is the agenda for the next clinician visit.
